Design Your Future

A Design degree opens the door to a truly vast array of careers. A degree in design is general enough to grant the student a number of potential career paths, and specific enough to give a direction to the chosen career path.

Designers generally work as artists for visual media. They can also take on what are considered to be less common careers for designers which couple their design skills with knowledge from other fields.

This does not require a minor or double major, but it is a good idea to take additional courses to gain the knowledge for careers like architectural design and animation design. Any career that uses a Design degree benefits from the extreme attention to detail, design sense and technical knowledge of the graduate.

Art Director

Art directors handle the task of organizing and choosing display artwork. This art is often in the form of marketing campaigns for billboards and advertisements in magazines and on TV. The art director uses knowledge from color and design theory and creative courses to determine the best layout for whatever canvas they need to work on.

Multimedia Designer

Multimedia Designers use their online degree to benefit TV and film productions. This can include set design, CD-ROM program designers and layout designers for any type of media. The technological expertise gained from a Design degree weighs heavily in starting a career in multimedia design.

Web Designer

Web designers handle the design for the layout, graphics and style for websites that are viewed thousands of times each day. In addition to handling the design aspects, many web designers work in development and management of websites.
