An Aviation Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on aircrafts to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. These maintenance procedures may be scheduled and involve searching for potential problems or corrective due to failure. Training Required for Aviation Mechanics

Various institutions offer two year Associate to four year Bachelor training programs for prospective Aviation Mechanics. The course materials are shipped to the homes of students enabling them to study in the comfort of their homes. The course structure consists of several modules with their associated exams that students take at the end of each module. Some of the subjects pursued during the training program include general subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, electronics and computer science.
