College Costs in Kentucky and Growing Popularity of Online Degrees
The cost involved for most private colleges and universities is more than $25,000 per year, making it a rather dear choice for many. And because of this, many students in Kentucky are opting to get their degrees online, to have the flexibility to pay per semester or pay per course, which makes the financial burden more bearable than a lump sum payment, even though the tuition cost of an online degree may be at par with that of a traditional campus. During Fall 2007, over 17 percent of all post-secondary students were enrolled in online programs.

A program of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, the Kentucky Virtual Campus facilitates technology-based online education for various groups of people. Some common recipients of online college degrees served by the KYVC include:
