Over the years, online learning has become increasingly popular, thus making it more acceptable on a global scale. Some may even argue that online learning is an even better way to gain new job skills and stay competitive in the work force. This new trend of learning has been gaining global acceptance not only among students but among employers as well. Employers also recognize the importance of higher education and the need to retrain employees with new job skills that will meet their daily business needs.
With more and more students returning back to school to gain new job skills for a competitive job market, the global acceptance of online degree programs makes it that much easier for people like you and me to pursue our dreams. Upon graduation we graduate with confidence, knowing that the method we used to gain our degree will not affect our future career.
There are some challenges with top online degrees based on personal opinions, such as they are of limited quality and don't carry the same weight as the traditional classroom environment or they lack interaction with students and instructors, but personal opinions are not facts. And based on the increased number of online colleges and universities catering to online students and the number of online students steadily increasing, there's no doubt that the future looks bright for those pursuing an online education. Overall it's a good financial investment for the future.
Initially, employers were hesitant to hire individuals with online degrees and that's because they were less familiar with online education, but today a lot of employers are beginning to take notice and jumping on board, hiring candidates from reputable online institutions. These employers believe that students who successfully go through online learning processes are more disciplined and have the skills required to work through the confines of planned education as well as the strength and capacity to balance work, family life and school responsibilities. These students are more disciplined, hardworking, dedicated, possess excellent time management skills and often do well with online courses and even better on the job - qualities employers admire.
According to a survey from Eduventures' Continuing and Professional Education 2005 report, top online degrees are gaining more acceptance among employers. Of the 505 employers surveyed, more than 62 percent have a favorable attitude toward online instruction and perceive the quality of online learning to have the same if not greater merit than classroom instruction.
