Real estate agents are literally glued to their mobile phones, so much so that they might as well get them fixed there permanently. You will need to give out your phone number through your visiting card, in magazines, newspapers, etc. to market yourself and trust us, people will call you at the oddest of times!
The best of your interpersonal skills will be tested
Think you are a people’s person? You career in real estate will make you think otherwise. The tricky thing about this business is that when clients are making crucial decision worth thousands of dollars, they are quite stressed and that reflects in the way they deal with you. They are frustrated easily, possibly exhausted after extensive searches and exasperated or just plain annoyed. Real estate agents often see the worst of their clients’ personalities and dealing with them cleverly with tact and diplomacy goes a long way.
