The accounting industry is increasing rapidly and has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in recent years. In the presence of different sectors in today’s business world, including industries and government sectors, there are plenty of opportunities made for graduates and experienced workers to take advantage of jobs available in this field.But Accounting is not only about numbers and finances only, some of the roles of a graduate with an accounting degree are pretty intriguing and cool. Read about a few of such jobs below:

#1 – International Accountant

The international accountants travel to distant places and with people from all over the world.This accounting career Specialty requires knowledge of:

• International accounting standards,
• and complex commercial contracts in emerging markets such as Asia,
• to work in mergers and acquisitions.

The study of international business is a good start if you want to pursue this type of career. Foreign language can be a bonus if you’re fluent in it and can also help increase your career opportunities. Other valuable qualifications include Accounting, Finance and Business Administration.

#2 – Forensic Accountant

Forensic accountants go where the money takes them. They are hired to investigate financial crime and fraud on behalf of insurance companies and government agencies with the implementation of the law. Often, their work will lead to criminal charges and may be called on to testify in court.

Getting a degree in accounting is a good first step. Get a degree in Business Administration or criminal law may also be useful in this profession. Once you earn your degree, you must obtain certification as CPA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or Cr.FA (Certified Forensic Accountant).

#3 – Comptroller

Comptroller is responsible for the organization or government purse strings. Also called controllers or Chief accountants, they usually have a close watch on all incoming and outgoing finances.

The path to becoming an comptroller can vary depending on whether you are working with the state or a private or public company. At the very least a bachelor’s degree in the area, such as accounting or finance is helpful. They are usually licensed CPAs

#4 – IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agent

Embezzlement, extortion, and even murder are just some of the crimes that these special agents of the IRS Criminal Investigation Office find as a result of strict inspection. IRS Special Agents investigate criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes, often in close Department of Justice, FBI, DEA etc

According to the IRS website, you need a bachelor’s degree of at least 15 semester hours in accounting and 9 semester hours of finance, economics, business law, tax law, or money and banking. You also need a CPA certificate.
